Powerful Listening

It has been said that attentive listening is the most powerful form of acknowledgement we can give to another human being.  How would you rate your own listening skills?  Is it easy for you to give someone else your complete attention?  Or does your mind wander, thinking about what’s coming in on email or what task you should be completing right now?

In this highly interactive session, we explore the importance of powerful listening, gain an understanding of how to listen effectively, and practice a tool that you can apply immediately in almost any conversation.

Research in Action: Connecting the Science of Positive Psychology to our Everyday Work

This session is geared toward those who want to dig a little deeper to learn more about positive psychology research, and who want to become more proficient in using a positive psychology mindset in their everyday work.

This session provides participants with a number of research highlights from the field of positive psychology, including examples of how to apply the research findings to conversations, in workplaces, and with teams.  Participants can expect to learn about tools and techniques which they can try in order to increase their self-awareness and positivity.  This is NOT a passive learning experience: attendees will be invited to participate and experiment in this interactive session!

The Changemaker's Mindset: Lessons Learned from Those Who are Changing the World

When we consider who changes the world, it's easy to picture a Mother Teresa or Nelson Mandela. But what about those everyday people who are making a difference in their own community or workplace? What started as simple curiosity about those who choose to make a positive difference, evolved into an extensive research project. After interviewing nearly 50 changemakers, the themes are clear. Those who successfully lead change don't necessarily share the same personality traits, nor do they take all the same actions, but they do share similarities in their mindset - how they approach adversity and risk, how they view potential collaborators, what they believe about naysayers, and what they believe about themselves. This is what has become known as The Changemaker's Mindset™ -- and it can be learned. By sharing the lessons gained from successful changemakers, this program is intended to give participants a heightened sense of self-awareness about belief and behaviour patterns, while reflecting on how The Changemaker's Mindset™ may be applied personally - and also with clients - for those who want to influence social change.

Job Benchmarking

Good people are actually easy to find… if you use the right tools.

Most companies have a hiring process so complicated that it’s impossible to find a great fit. This broken process can lead to hiring decisions based on biases and gut feelings rather than hiring the whole person. This contributes to the costly epidemic of bad hiring – hiring candidates who don’t have the skills needed for the job, are poor fits for the company’s culture, or are unmotivated by the rewards of the position.

TTI’s patented Job Benchmarking process is a unique and effective solution.

We benchmark a specific job, not the person in the job. To do this, we let the job talk through an interactive process and job assessment.

Once the job itself is benchmarked, the next step is comparing talent to the job benchmark.

A talent assessment on the same scale as the job will identify the characteristics an individual will bring to the job, allowing us to easily determine the best job fit and identify coaching opportunities. Within the framework of the overall selection process, effective hiring decisions can be made and productivity can begin immediately.

When Job Benchmarking is implemented properly, it will have a direct effect on the business’ bottom line. You’ll not only attract the best candidates, but you’ll save time and money by hiring the right people the first time and reducing the learning curve with new employees who are strategically matched to fit your company.
